SALEM, Ore.- Eight Oregon Tech softball players have received All-Cascade Conference Honors including three-first team honorees, two-second team honorees, two to the honorable mention team, and three-gold glove winners the conference office announced tonight at the CCC Championships Banquet.

Tara Moates picked up her third straight All-CCC First Team accolades leading the team in hitting with a .466 average. Joining Moates with First Team honors was senior Sadie Birch who hit a career high .397 with 11 home runs, and junior Rashaun Sells ( Clackamas CC) who hit .403 in the regular season for the Owls.

Last season’s CCC Player of the Year Ali Graham picked up second team honors as she hit .363 and was 8-1 in the circle for the Owls. Joining Graham on the second team list was Katie Virtue, Virtue hit .351 for OIT and was a perfect 11 for 11 on stolen base attempts.

Junior outfielder Rachael Delamare (Bellevue College) received All-CCC Honorable mention accolades with her .329 average this year. Also garnering All-CCC Honorable Mention was sophomore pitcher Loryn Williams who was 12-7 on the year with a 2.64 ERA.

Gold Glove
Senior Cassidy Hoglund received Gold Glove honors for the second straight year at 2nd base with a.986 fielding percentage as she made only 2-errors on 71 assists. Tech’s Rashaun Sells (Clackamas CC) and Rachael Delamare (Bellevue College) also received Gold Gloves for their performance at 3rd base and the outfield respectively.

GREAT FALLS, Mont. Lady Argo softball got its second Cascade Collegiate Conference First and Second All-Conference players in program history with the announcement of the 2017 CCC All-Conference Softball Team. Senior Jocelyn Kaufman earned First Team All-CCC while junior Kylie Gonzales (Clackamas CC) earned Second Team honors. This is UGF softball's second year as full members of the Cascade Conference.

Kaufman, capped off a long career for UGF, which included 110 starts at catcher, with a stellar senior season. In her previous three seasons, Kaufman was a solid defensive catcher but was middle of the pack as a hitter. In 2017, she became excellent in both areas, finishing ranked in the top 20 in the conference in batting average, on base percentage, doubles per game, home runs per game, and put outs per game.

Her batting average of .368 led all Lady Argos, getting 35 hits off 95 at bats. Not only did she hit well for average, but she also dramatically improved her extra base abilities. Prior to her senior year, Kaufman had hit 8 doubles and 1 career home run. As a senior she hit 8 more doubles, and 3 home runs, both of which were third best on the team.

Defensively, the team captain was again a stalwart catcher. She started 32 of the team's 34 games behind the plate and finished the season second on the team in put outs with 122, to go along with 16 assists, and a .972 fielding percentage.

The First Team All-Conference nod was Kaufman's first career conference honors.

While Kaufman's award came at the end of a 4-year career, UGF's other all-conference player was a newcomer. Junior Kylie Gonzales transferred in after two years a Clackamas Community College and had an instant impact for the Lady Argos.

Gonzales was by far UGF's most dangerous hitter throughout the season, hitting well both for average and for power. Her .347 average was second on the team, and when combined with her 19 extra base hits, and clutch efforts with runners on base, created an RBI monster. She finished second in the conference and 21st in the NAIA in RBIs per game, averaging 1.132 and was seventh in the conference with 43 total RIBS.

She was also seventh in the CCC in slugging percentage (0.645), and fourth in the conference and 29th national in home runs per game (0.24). Her 9 total home runs were two shy of the single season program record. As a third baseman, Gonzalez had 72 put outs, 39 assists and was a part of 4 double plays.
