Umpqua's Jordan Stotler breaks Career Blocks Record

VANCOUVER - Umpqua sophomore Jordan Stotler broke the career record for blocked shots* of 189 set in 2010 by Clackamas standout forward Rylee Peterson at the Lower Columbia Holiday Classic.

The new record of 190 occurred in game one of the tournament against Yakima Valley where Stotler rejected 4 shots. She then recorded another 9 in the following two games to bring her new total to 199 entering the league schedule.

Stotler recorded the single season record of 150 blocks in the 2016-17 season.

The only blocks record she doesn't own is the single game record of 12 set in 2009 by Grays Harbor's Brittany McKinney. Stotler had 11 blocks twice last season and had four double digit games.  Those four games were triple-doubles for the 6'4" forward.

Stotler, this week's NWAC Player of the Week, signed a National Letter of Intent with NCAA DIV I Portland State University on November 8.

"Jordan has shown this past year to be one of the best junior college players on the West Coast," said Portland State head coach Lynn Kennedy. "Her work ethic and commitment to getting to the next level can be seen in the development of her inside-outside game. Not only can she score at will inside the paint, she can step out and consistently knock down three-point shots. She is a perfect fit for our team at the stretch four position."

Stotler and the Riverhawks will be back in action Friday, January 6 at Mt. Hood Community College. Game is set for a 2pm start.
