2007 NWAACC Softball Championship- Games 21-27

Game 21
Mt Hood 12-17-2
Chemeketa 4-5-2
W- Gendron
L- Albrecht
HR- Cox (MHCC), Norbury 2 (MHCC), Sinyard (CHCC) Albrecht (CHCC).

In a game of region rivals, Mt Hood used two homeruns from Chanie Norbury to quiet the Storm. The second of Norbury's homeruns was a grand slam in the fourth inning which sealed the game for the Saints. Norbury accounted for seven of Hood's 12 runs batted in.

Game 22
Lower Columbia 9-9-3
Clackamas 8-11-3
W- O'Neil
L- Cristofaro
HR- Howard (ClCC), Hanna (LCC), Mathew (LCC), Leslie (LCC), Strode GSHR (LCC)

Lower Columbia took an early 4-0 lead in the first inning when they got three homeruns. Clackamas recovered to tie the score in the following innings, but in the top of the seventh, Ashlea Strode hit a grand slam homerun for the Red Devils. That was just enough as LCC was able to hold off a Clackamas rally in the bottom of the seventh one run short.

Game 23
Spokane 5-7-3
Wenatchee Valley 7-9-2
W- York
L- Keeler
HR- Keeler (CCS), Wyatt 2 (WWCC), York (WWCC).

Ranzy York capped an exciting comeback for Wenatchee with a two-run homerun the bottom of the seventh inning to eliminate Spokane and keep the Knights alive.

Spokane ends their season 16-12, 24-22.

Game 24
Walla Walla 7-12-2
Bellevue 0-4-0
W- Jones (10k)
L- Miller

Walla Walla was led by Katie Brown and Amanda Potter who were both 3 for 4 hitting in the game against Bellevue. The Warriors jumped on top early and the Bulldogs were unable to over come BreAnn Jones who had 10k.

Bellevue finishes the season 31-5, 38-6.

Game 25
Wenatchee Valley 13-15-2
Chemeketa 5-7-2
W - York
L- Chewning
HR Potter (WVC), Mintzer (CHCC)

Wenatchee Valley jumped out to an early lead and Ranzy York was solid on the mound as the Knights won the game 13-5 over the Chemeketa Storm. Tarn Potter scored three Knight runs on her home run in the 2nd. Sarah Mintzer tallied a solo homer for the Storm in the 4th. Wenatchee's Kelena Keffler and Lauren Brem both went 3-4 at the plate to lead the Knight batters. Wenatchee will play another game verses Clackamas on Sunday at 10am. Clackamas won 1-0 in a previous pairing of the two squads in yesterday's action.

Chemeketa finishes the season 15-15, 29-22.

Game 26
Clackamas 3-6-2
Walla Walla 2-6-0
W - Santos
L - Jones
HR - King (CLCC), Solcum (CLCC), Rivera (WWCC)

Walla Walla opened the scoring in the first inning taking a 1-0 lead until Clackamas tied the contest in the 3rd inning to knot things up at 1-1. Clackamas' Jessica Solcum homered in the 4th to put the Cougars up 2-1. The Warriors answered in the 5th with a solo shot by league home run leader Sarah Rivera, but the Cougars countered in the same inning on a blast by Katie King to secure the win 3-2.

Walla Walla complete their season at 20-8, 39-13.

Game 27
Lower Columbia 8-12-2
Mt Hood 7-8-2
W - O'Neil
L - Davis
HR - Hanna 3 (LCC), Cox 2 (MHCC), Rossman 2 (MHCC), Warren (LCC), Kreshka (MHCC)

Lower Columbia jumped out to a lead early on and despite Mt. Hood's tough offensive rallies led by Holly Rossman, Kathy Cox and Bryttny Kreshka, the Saints were unable to catch the Red Devils in the bottom of the seventh. Lower Columbia's Jessie Hanna was on fire at the plate with three home runs, the last in the top of the seventh. Brittany Warren also homered for the Devils in the third as the Devils make their way to the NWAACC Chmapionship game for the eighth time in the last nine years.

Mt. Hood will play the winner of the Clackamas - Wenatchee Valley game tomorrow at noon.
