Job Announcement - Head Cross Country Coach, Edmonds
Edmonds College is currently accepting applications for its Head Men's & Women's Cross Country Coach position.
The men's and women's cross country coach will be responsible for all aspects of the cross country program, including planning and directing recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of student-athletes, along with fiscal management, for Edmonds College's Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) cross country program. This position reports to the athletic director. The duties of this position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of the NWAC and Edmonds College.
Must be able to work and interact effectively with other coaches, staff, student-athletes, the general student body, administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Qualifications, Knowledge Needed
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) from an accredited institution;
- Must possess effective coaching techniques, skills and strategies of cross country;
- Minimum of one season of experience as coach of a high school or college (preferred) cross country program, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position;
- Previous experience as a collegiate cross country student-athlete is not required, but ideal;
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead;
- Strong organizational, management and communication skills with attention to detail;
- Experience and proficiency in using google drive, google docs, and google sheets;
- Knowledge of NWAC rules and regulations, and NCAA cross country and track rules;
- Knowledge of college policies and procedures, marketing, social media, promotion, and athletic facility upkeep;
- Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
- Experience in the recruitment process (and strategies) of prospective collegiate student-athletes;
- Athletic fundraising experience;
