Job Announcement: Head Athletic Trainer, Clark

Clark College is currently accepting applications for its head athletic trainer position.

Job Title:

Licensed Athletic Trainer (AT/L), Clark College

Reports To:
Athletic Director

Occupational Summary
Develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medicine program for Clark College intercollegiate sports. The Licensed Athletic Trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program.  This is a 10-month position, August 1 through May 31.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive sports medicine program for Clark College Athletics to include: prevention, assessment, management, and rehabilitation of sports injuries
  • Provide scheduled clinic hours for assessment and treatment of sports injuries, along with medical referral to team physicians as appropriate
  • Provide medical coverage for both Clark College and visiting student-athletes at home sports events
  • Working with team physicians, determine return to play status and return to play progression for injured athletes
  • Assist Athletic Director with establishing safety protocols pertaining to emergency action plan and facility and environmental safety
  • Work with the coaching and strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation conditioning programs to meet individual student-athlete needs
  • Schedule and administer IMPACT testing for all incoming Clark College athletes
  • Assist in developing a pool of qualified Athletic Trainers to assist with coverage of sports events
  • Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that enhance the sports medical program
  • Manage Athletic Training budget, and medical supplies inventory

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and 1-2 years professional experience. Master's degree in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine preferred
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • State Athletic Training Licensure or eligible on hire
  • Current Certification Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider

Rate: $30/hr, not to exceed an average of 20 hrs a week Aug 1 - May 31
