Williams, Fely Named NWAC Baden Basketball Players of the Year
VANCOUVER, Wash. - Skagit Valley's Sylas Williams and Umpqua's Brooklyn Fely were each named the NWAC's Baden Basketball Players of the Year, the conference office announced on Thursday. The awards were voted on by the conference head coaches.

Williams had an incredible two-way year for Skagit Valley, leading them to the North Region title with a perfect 14-0 record in region play and 28-2 overall. Williams was one of just two players in the NWAC to average over 20 points per game and 10 rebounds per game as the sophomore averaged 20.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals. He also shot 54.8 percent from the floor while averaging 28.9 minutes per game.
Williams had four games on the year with 30 or more points scored including a season-high 41 points on Feb. 22 against Whatcom. The Cardinals fell in the opening round of the NWAC tournament, but Williams was solid as always in the game with 20 points and nine rebounds, both team highs. The sophomore finishes his outstanding Cardinals career with 1,061 points, 764 rebounds, 114 assists, 59 steals and 49 blocks.
Brooklyn Fely • Umpqua • Women's Basketball
Fely wins her second-straight Baden Player of the Year award after an incredible 2024 season that would be tough duplicate. She did more than that as she averaged more points and rebounds in 2025, posting 22.2 points per game and 13.8 rebounds. Fely was more efficient in 2025 in almost every category, raising her shooting percentage by nearly six points to 59.0 and her three-point shooting jumped up 6.5 percentage points to 30.6. Fely also found her teammates more, averaging 3.8 assists per game, up from 2.8 in 2024. She did all this while averaging five minutes less per game.
Fely led the Riverhawks to another great season with a 28-3 overall record and 14-2 in the South Region to take second place. Umpqua advanced all the way to the NWAC Final Four, falling to eventual tourament champions Walla Walla. Fely was First Team All-Tournament for a second-straight year after averaging nearly 16 points per game and 13 rebounds per contest. Fely wraps up one of the best NWAC women's basketball careers with 1,838 total points, 827 rebounds, 202 assists, 110 steals and 71 blocks.
Both Williams and Fely will be invited to the NWAC Hall of Fame Banquet on June 5 at the Angel of the Winds Casino Resort in Arlington, Washington, where they will be honored and receive their Baden Player of the Year plaques.
