2025 NWAC Spring Coaches of the Year Awards

VANCOUVER, Wash. - The NWAC congratulates its eight NWAC Coaches of the Year for the 2025 spring sports season. The award winners were each recognized at the 2025 NWAC Hall of Fame Banquet & Ceremony, receiving a commemorative plaque.

Micah Perron • Bellevue • Men's Tennis

Perron guided the Bulldogs to their seventh-straight NWAC Men's Tennis title in 2025 and fourth under his leadership. Bellevue once again dominated the tournament, winning five of six singles brackets and sweeping all three doubles events. The championship was the program's 13th overall.

Mark Heleker • Treasure Valley • Women's Tennis 

Heleker led Treasure Valley to a second place finish at the 2025 NWAC Women's Tennis Championship. The Chukars edged past perennial contenders Bellevue in the semifinals and narrowly fell by one point to Highline in the finals. With clutch performances in doubles and a strong singles finish, TVCC earned its first-ever runner up finish under Heleker's leadership.

Brian Pan • Bellevue • Men's Golf 

Bellevue men's golf finished just one stroke shy of the NWAC title at Apple Tree Golf Course on May 18 & 19. Head Coach Brian Pan was honored as NWAC Coach of the Year, recognizing his outstanding leadership and the team's impressive season. Under Pan, the Bulldogs finished the regular season with the top score of 33 points as they won two league matches including the Skagit Valley League Match and the Spokane League Match.

Quinton Parnell • Columbia Basin • Women's Golf 

Parnell coached Columbia Basin to the 2025 NWAC Women's Golf title, the program's eighth title in school history. Parnell's strategic guidance was key to Columbia Basin's consistent success throughout the season as they won all four NWAC League Matches. They won the NWAC title by seven strokes.

Larry Beatty • Spokane • Men's & Women's Track & Field

Beatty coached the Spokane men's and women's track and field teams to both titles at the 2025 NWAC Track & Field Championship. On the men's side, it was the Sasquatch's first title since 2012 and 33rd overall as the team won seven different events, scoring 229.5 points. On the women's side, Spokane won its second title in a row and 24th all-time. The women's team captured victories in eight individual events finishing with 236.5 total points. 

Traci Fuller • Lower Columbia • Softball

Fuller led Lower Columbia to the 2025 NWAC Softball Championship, marking the Red Devils' first title since 2011. Lower Columbia went 5-0 in the tournament, powered by a balanced lineup and a pitching staff that allowed just six runs total. Fuller's squad finished the season with a 48-0 record, the first ever undefeated season in NWAC softball history. Overall, they outscored opponents a whopping 599-93 on the season, leading the NWAC in both runs scored and runs against. 

Andy Peterson & James Marshall • Linn-Benton • Baseball

Peterson and Marshall led Linn-Benton to the 2025 NWAC Baseball Championship, securing back-to-back titles for the Roadrunners. The duo coached Linn-Benton to a 44-8 record, dominating both the regular season and postseason with strong pitching depth and consistent offensive production. The Roadrunners went 5-1 in the NWAC Tournament, winning three-straight games and finishing with a 7-3 victory in the championship game over Tacoma to claim the program's third title in four years.
