Job Announcement: Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, Yakima Valley

Yakima Valley College is currently searching for a new assistant men's basketball coach postion.

Major Duties and Responsibility:

The assistant coach will assist the head coach in the planning and implementation of the men's basketball program. Qualified applicants must show experience in recruiting for qualified student-athletes, coaching student-athletes in all team practices, basic strength and conditioning, scheduling and travel.

The assistant coach position is responsible for studying, researching and developing, and presentation of sport related topics and exercises as well as drills and statistical information. Typical job responsibilities include organizing, develop and deliver a varied range of sporting activities or programs. Basic Duties also include serving as the liaison of the Men's Basketball program and working with relevant organizations and community programs.

This position works closely with the other Academic Support efforts and provides insight for academic issues surround student-athletes.

Additional Requirements:                          
MUST PASS A BACKGROUND TEST
Organize and conduct camps
Knowledge of NWAC, NCAA, and Yakima Valley College rules and regulations
Possession of a valid driver's license and good driving record
CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain by November 2022

Supervision:
The Head Coach supervises this position; however, the assistant coach must be able to work independently, exercising good judgement and professionalism.
This position is responsible for the supervision of athletes, student managers, casual part time workers, and volunteers.
