Cardinals Cruise to NWAC Final Four with 91-52 Win Against Centralia

PASCO, Wash. — Skagit Valley (29-3, 12-2) continued to impress in the tournament with another decisive win, 91-52 over Centralia (19-13, 7-7) in Game 11 of the 2026 NWAC Men's Basketball Championship on Friday at Columbia Basin College to advance to next week's Final Four.

The Cardinals make their return trip to the semifinals for the second time in the past three seasons after reaching the semis in 2024. SVC's defense was formidable in Friday's game, recording eight blocks and nine steals, while limiting the Trailblazers to just 38.6 percent shooting from the field.

Skagit Valley opened the half with a quick layup by Malcolm Clark, assisted by Treyshawn Weatherspoon. The Cardinals maintained the momentum, with Clark and Weatherspoon contributing consistently, helping the team build a commanding lead. A key 3-pointer from Jaeger Fyfe at the 12:07 mark extended the advantage, while Jerry Petty Jr. added to the scoring with several layups. By the end of the half, SVC led 50-25, with Clark's layup at the 35-second mark capping off the dominant first half.

In the second half, the Cardinals extended their lead over the Blazers, securing a decisive win. Petty Jr. was continued his strong play, including a three-pointer at 11:06, and ending with a fast-break dunk at 9:44. Weatherspoon also contributed with key plays, such as a layup at 8:32 and a three-pointer at 13:22. Blaine Granberg added to the offensive momentum with a layup at 4:12, while Clark played a pivotal role on defense, registering a block and several rebounds.

The Cardinals three-headed attack of Petty Jr, Weatherspoon and Clark were a dominant force. Petty Jr. had 21 points with seven rebounds and four steals. Weatherspoon led the team with 24 points and six assists. Clark demonstrated versatility, scoring 23 points and dominating the glass with 15 rebounds. Clark also made a defensive mark with five blocks and three steals. These players highlighted SVC's competitive outing.

The Trailblazers' were led by Shay Brannon, who scored 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field. Luke Brewer led the team with 11 points, adding four boards.

Skagit Valley will next play in the NWAC Final Four next Friday, March 13, and take on region rival Edmonds at 2 p.m. The Trailblazers complete a resurgent season with a 19-13 record as they made their first tournament since 2019, reaching the Elite Eight.
