Highline’s Mohn, Peninsula’s Anderson Selected NWAC Coaches of the Year
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Highline College head men's soccer coach Steve Mohn and Peninsula College head women's soccer coach Kanyon Anderson were named the 2021 NWAC Coaches of the Year on Wednesday.

Mohn led the Thunderbirds to their fourth NWAC title overall. It is Mohn's third championship as head coach and fourth overall as he was a player on the team in Highline's first championship in 2004.
This season, Mohn helped lead Highline to a 14-5-0 overall record, which included a seven-game winning streak to end the year. The Thunderbirds finished second in the West Region, but won four-straight playoff games to win the title. The championship game was a thriller, with Highline scoring in the 89th minute to defeat Whatcom 4-3.
Kanyon Anderson • Peninsula
Anderson continued a remarkable run as head coach of the Pirates, reaching 10-straight Final Fours including 9-out-of-10 championship games. The title is the fifth overall for Anderson and the Pirates and the third in the last five tournaments.
Overall, the Pirates went undefeated with an 18-0-2 record and won the North Region with a nearly perfect 14-0-1 record. Under Anderson, Peninsula only gave up three goals on the entire season. The Pirates were tested in their final two games, however, needing goals in the last 10 minutes of each to win.
