2025 NWAC Cross Country Championships to be Hosted at Spokane Valley’s ‘The Course’

The 2025 NWAC Cross Country Championships will officially be held at 'The Course' on Monday, Nov. 10 in Spokane Valley, Washington.

'The Course' is a brand new, premier cross country running venue along the north shore of the Spokane River. The NWAC is excited that the 2025 race will be the first-ever collegiate championship race run on the course.

"The coaches are excited that The Course will be ready in time for our championship meet," said Garet Studer, Chair of the NWAC Cross Country Committee.  "The last several years at Chambers Creek have been incredible for our student-athletes, and we are happy to be able to continue to provide a championship level course for our student athletes in Spokane."

Spokane Colleges will team up with Spokane Sports to host the championships through 2027.

"Spokane Colleges is excited to able to host the NWAC Cross Country Championships for the next three years," said Spokane Colleges athletic director Jim Fitzgerald. "The partnership with Spokane Sports and other community leaders will help make this a first-class event for our NWAC student-athletes. Spokane is known for hosting great running events, and I have no doubt the NWAC Championships will add to this rich tradition."

'The Course' features 46 acres of land and is customizable to accommodate races of varying lengths from 0.5 miles to 10,000 meters. It will feature dedicated starting and finish lines, spectator-friendly viewing areas and a large course width of 10-15 meters.

"Bringing the NWAC Cross Country Championships to The Course Spokane Valley is a win for student-athletes and for our region," said Spokane Sports CEO Ashely Blake. "Events like this not only deliver a world-class competitive setting, but they also generate a meaningful impact for local hotels, restaurants, and businesses. We are proud to showcase Spokane Valley as a destination for cross country at the highest level."
